The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters in the U.K. on Wednesday, but we here in the U.S. still have to wait until May 2 to feast our eyes on the superhero sequel. Fortunately, we have a pair of new clips to hold us over until then.

Firstly, this TV spot hints at Gwen Stacy's (Emma Stone) fate in the movie, and the news is not good for fans of the character:

Many have speculated that Gwen would die in this movie. Fans of the Spider-Man comic book know that a pivotal moment in the superhero's life came when his first girlfriend died at the hands of the Green Goblin even though Spidey thought he had saved her life. Given that the Goblin (Dane DeHaan) will square off with the web head in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and given Stone's comments about the film, it's entirely possible she won't make it out of the movie alive.

Here's what Stone told On Air with Ryan Seacrest back in February:

"Basically they're going to see the continuation of the Spider-Man story, which is the hero's journey, and he's up against a whole new squadron of villains and he's struggling with promises he's made in the last movie and the consequences of making those and what it's like to be in love with somebody who you promised to not see anymore. I think the intention the whole time has been to tell Gwen's story as closely to the comic as possible."

This second clip shows off Spider-Man's (Andrew Garfield) patented Spidey Sense in action:

What do you think of the two clips? Do you think Gwen will meet her end in The Amazing Spider-Man 2? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
