Rapper Ice Cube was somewhat bitter after losing that gold popcorn statue at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday (April 13). Fans totally freaked-out after he apparently dissed the recently deceased Paul Walker, so the "Ride Along" star was forced to explain his motives in a series of heated tweets.

Ice Cube and co-star Kevin Heart lost the award for "Best On-Screen Duo" to Walker and Vin Diesel for "Fast and Furious 6." Apparently, the Everythang's Corrupt singer didn't think the vote was fair.

Before the annual awards show, Ice Cube sent out this tweet that quickly went viral:

@icecube: "On my way to the MTV movie awards. If me and Kevin Hart don't win. The fix is in."

And when the comedic duo didn't win, Ice Cube told USA Today in a follow-up interview:

"We was robbed... Shame on you MTV. We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated, for us not to win was crazy," says Ice Cube of his role with Hart. "We were the best onscreen duo, period. They should have gave it to him before he passed away."

And why did he leave the show early?

"I just wasn't into it. I have been going in and out of these things for 25 years. If you ain't into it, why torture yourself? As soon as you get bored, get up and leave."

Well, those remarks didn't go over too well. So the rapper was forced to explain himself on Twitter:

@icecube: "Re: The MTV Awards. I wasn't really mad we didn't win. So I would never diss the actors who won. Not even Paul Walker. Seriously people!"

@icecube: "Don't believe the hype."

@icecube: "Re: Leaving early from the MTV Awards. They told me our catagory wasn't gonna be televised. So I left. Just promoting that RIDE ALONG DVD."

Fans of the late Paul Walker wouldn't let it go, so Ice eventually got somewhat defensive. He continued:

@icecube: "Re: The sympathy vote: We should honor people before they die. That's all. Shame on you "make something out of nothing" ass reporters. Smh."

@icecube: "Re: MTV Awards. Ice Cube is not a sore loser. I was born losing. This winning shit is what I gotta get use to."

@icecube: "Last tweet and I'mma leave it alone. Remember this: A lie travels further then the truth. Damn the devil is busy."

@icecube: "And Paul Walker fans don't trip. I was a fan too."

Do Mstars fans accept Ice Cube's version of a public apology? Was "Ride Along" truly "robbed" because of Walker's tragic passing back in November?
