Who said grandparents weren't cool?

Grandpa Frank gets branded with an equality sign tattoo in this YouTube video to show his support for his gay grandson, Joe. Frank tells the tattoo artist that Joe came out to him first and he's getting the tattoo to show his support. He jokes that the pain of the tattoo is nothing compared to the pain that Joe has to endure when he first came out.

"I wanted to support my grandson who is gay, I think that it's important that we show support for him."

In a world where LGBT youths have to worry about being disowned or unaccepted by their families, it's amazing to see such bravery and open-mindedness. Grandpa Frank says that there was no way that his family wouldn't have supported Joe. "The whole family supported him immediately."

It looks like the tattoos run in the family too. In the commentary for the video, a member of the family tells the grandpa that five more family members will be following in his footsteps and will also be getting equal sign tattoos.

At the end of the video, Joe give his grandpa a big hug and puts his equality tattoo up next to his grandfathers. A touching moment which the family member videotaping says, "Very cool, look what love does."

Joe's partner, Will Wrench, wrote in the description of the video posted on his YouTube account, "Watch as my partner Joe's almost 80-year old Grandfather gets tattooed to show his support for gay rights. About a month ago, Joe got an equal sign tattoo in support of human equality, and Grandpa Frank wanted to show his love and support, too. The world is really blessed to have people like Frank, who not only love unconditionally, but also accept everyone for who they are."
