Brooklyn Nets down Toronto Raptors in game 7 to set up Miami Heat showdown

The Brooklyn Nets had a horrible start to their NBA season, but in 2014 they've been one of the most impressive teams on show. Although the Toronto Raptors were the higher seeded team many predicted the Nets would breeze straight through the series. They found it anything but a breeze, but they did progress, winning 104-103, and now they will face the Miami Heat.

The Nets know the Heat will be a tough, tough series, but if they were to win the series they would then become a heavy favourite to win it all. They've had the Heat's number this season, and LeBron James and his teammates will remain confident, but they'd rather of faced the Raptors instead.

The game come down to the wire, with one possession making the difference. The Raptors had one final chance to win the game, and the series, but the Nets blocked the shot, ensuring it would be them against the Heat and not the Raptors.

The Raptors waved and clapped their players away, after an impressive season from their team, albeit one that ended in a dramatic, heartbreaking way. Their fans were sad, yet knew they'd had a heroic season, as many predicted them to fail.

Can the Nets beat the Heat? If the Nets can beat Miami, it's believed they will face the Indiana Pacers. Although the Nets are confident and have the right mixture of youth and experience, they've got a long way to go before thinking of winning an NBA championship. Stranger things have happened though.
