Southampton star Luke Shaw joining Manchester United before 2014 World Cup
Manchester United have been hinting for a long while that they'll spend big this summer, especially after their season of suffering. Sunday they played their final game away to Southampton and drew 1-1 and hours later it's believed they've bid nearly $40 million dollars for their teen sensation, Luke Shaw, who also looks set to be placed in England's World Cup squad Monday. Will Shaw be a Manchester United player and does he deserve to go to Brazil next month?
United are in need of reinforcements and especially a left back. They're considered weak at that position now and it's rumoured that starter Patrice Evra will leave this summer, meaning Shaw could be their answer for the present and future. Louis Van Gaal is tipped to get the management job this week, and it's likely he will try to push a deal through for Luke Shaw in the coming weeks.
Perhaps United want to get a deal done before he goes to the World Cup. The squad is announced tomorrow and the rumours suggest that experienced left back Ashley Cole will not be in the squad and Shaw will. This means an impressive tournament will add millions of dollars to his cost, so Untied are trying to secure their player at the cheaper price and before other teams snap him up.
How good is Luke Shaw and can he fit right in to United's team? Is he really better than veteran Ashley Cole, or is his youthful nature going in his favour?
