'True Detective' Season 2 Casting Rumors: Brad Pitt is 'close to signing a deal' for 2015 episodes starring role?
True Detective turned out to be one of the most talked about television series of 2014. The fist season was short, but has stayed with viewers after its eight-episode run. With neither Matthew McConaughey nor Woody Harrelson returning since each season is set out to be a completely different narrative, season two casting rumors have been spreading.
Brad Pitt's name has been rumored to star in the upcoming second season, and the speculation hasn't calmed. In fact, a new report claims the Hollywood superstar is "close to signing a deal," according to gossip website The Daily Star.
"Brad Pitt could be the star of True Detective Season 2," the website states. "The report suggests that the actor is "close to signing a deal" to star as the main cast member. Brad Pitt is reportedly "thrashing out last minute details of a deal" with HBO. 12 Years a Slave actor has already given the "green light" to the new project."
Considering the source, we're still going to continue treating this as a big rumor.
Back in March, series creator Nic Pizzolatto revealed the first details of the upcoming second season.
"Okay. This is really early, but I'll tell you (it's about) hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system," he said.
This is really the only information we can confirm for the show, but having Pitt on board would definitely be pretty incredible. What do you think of the latest True Detective rumors? Let us know in the comments section below!
