Beyoncé and Jay Z may have released a statement to help Solange Knowles from allegedly heading to jail for assault after her elevator fight with the Brooklyn rapper. In a joint statement to the Associated Press., the family admitted to family issues and denied that Solange was drunk or stirring problems at the party.

"As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it," the family said in a statement. "Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family. The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we're no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

The statement released comes a day after reports alleged that the "Sol-Angel" singer could be  arrested for assaulting Jay Z in a Standard Hotel elevator.

According to MediaTakeOut.com, a source in the NYPD revealed that the "Sol-Angel" singer may be arrested with Assault in the 3rd degree, which is a misdemeanor. The announcement is set to be taking place within days according to the site.

An extended version of the fight between rapper Jay Z, Beyoncé, and Solange has recently been released in an update by TMZ. The video shows Solange physically attacking her brother-in-law for over 3 minutes in a Standard Hotel elevator at the Met Gala last week.

In the video obtained by TMZ, Beyoncé appeared calm and alone in the video until her sister, Solange stepped in followed by Jay-Z. The younger sister of the "Diva" singer began screaming and attacking the rapper who attempted to push her off until security grabbed her as Beyoncé calmly watched the fight ensue.

After the fight the trio walked out of the hotel as security escorted Beyoncé and Solange into one vehicle as Jay-Z entered another.
