Can LeBron James be Considered Better Than Michael Jordan Now He Has More 25/5/5 games?

After years of being labelled the 'Second coming of Michael Jordan', is LeBron James fast becoming a better player than his boyhood idol? James idolized Jordan, and was overjoyed when many said he was the best player entering the NBA since his hero. After a long, successful career, the comparisons are still being made, but as James chases his 3rd NBA championship, has he taken Jordan's place in the history books?

James' Miami Heat beat the Pacers last night, taking a 3-1 series lead, but LeBron achieved a personal goal, too. He took over from Michael Jordan, who many consider the all- time greatest NBA player, in a vital playoff statistic. James now has more 25/5/5 games. This means James has had more games in which he's scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Taking this honour away from Jordan has certainly helped the "James is betted than Jordan" argument.

If James wins his 3rd championship this summer it will only add to the argument, but there are two things that favour Jordan's camp. 1- Jordan won 6 titles. 2- Jordan achieved his greatest accolades with one team, the Chicago Bulls. Many believe James would have to return to his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and succeed, if he was to truly close the gap on Jordan.

James bolted for Miami, but has since won 3 championships, justifying his decision. This summer he can become a free agent, and there's rumours he could return to Cleveland. If he does return, then and only then can he truly close the gap and top his idol.
