How To: Partly Cloudy Nails (VIDEO)

You'll be feeling pretty sunny with this clouded look.

To begin this look, make sure your nails are clean and filed to a rounded tip. Feel free to shape your nails in your preferred style.

Once filed, coat your nails with a base polish. This can be a strengthening base coat or your favorite clear polish. I chose to begin using OPI's Nail Envy after hearing rave reviews online. You can get this polish at any beauty supply like Ulta or Sally Beauty Supply.

Select your favorite blue nail polish, preferably a sky blue. I used Brucci's Luscious Lori. Before this coat dries, use a dotting tool to dab on white nail polish. I used Brucci's Snow White. By catching the blue nail polish before it dries, a blending effect occurs. This technique allows for the white clouds to gain a puffy transparency.

Don't try to be too particular about how your clouds shape out. All clouds are different and this is your chance to get creative!

For an added touch, add random drops onto your clouds for an added 3-D effect to your clouds.

Finish with a clear top coat and you're ready for any Summer outing!
