Florence Back on Stage After Illness

Florence and the Machine front woman Florence Welch is back on stage after suffering from a vocal injury that caused her to cancel two shows last week.  The singer was not able to speak or sing excessively or she would have faced permanent damage to her goods.

After a long week of silence for the singer, she could finally come out and perform at the Good Morning America show.   The band performed Spectrum (Say My Name) and Shake It Out live.

Welch admitted, "I was worried because I was like, 'Am I just gonna open my mouth and it's just gonna (be silent)?' But it seems to still work, it's still there!"

The singer said that when the injury occurred, she felt something snap.  It was a first time experience for her and she lost three octaves.

"It's funny, it's not like being sick because it's almost like being an athlete, you strain a muscle, and I just couldn't really speak and I was desperate to do the (festival) shows, I really wanted to still do them, but I could have done permanent damage so I had to rest," she explained.

Florence is now ready to kick off her North American tour in good health.
