Perrie Edwards' One Direction Fiancé Zayn Malik Rapping On New 1D Album, But It's Only 'A Hobby' Says Producer Naughty Boy

For those following the new One Direction album news of 2014, you're probably familiar with Naughty Boy's influence on at least one track that he's worked on with Zayn Malik. Previous interviews have revealed that Malik is set to rap on this song and possibly more on the new album. This week the producer shared more information on Zayn's songwriting and rapping!

"I'm encouraging him to be a great songwriter and sing great songs," the "La La La" producer revealed while speaking with Max's Capital Radio Show this week. "The rapping is a hobby. It's the same thing with him. We've done something with him that might be a One Direction single."

He added: "It sounds like them and it sounds like me. Me and Emeli [Sande] wrote it, and Zayn actually wrote on it too, but it does sound like them. But the natural 'next' them."

In other words, it sounds like Naughty Boy loves talking about this big collaboration because earlier this year he was saying the same story.

"I think it's good for them, because they're different people at the end of the day. Your never gonna put them in a room and they're like the same thing," he said at the time. "I was the first producer [Zayn]'s actually spent time with outside the band, so I think it's important to him that he's got someone where there is a musical chemistry, and he can actually do what he wants."
