Batmobile Could Hit Detroit Streets During Batman vs Superman Filming in August

Filming on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is underway in Michigan, and so far fans have seen plenty of set photos thanks to some adventurous fans who have snapped pictures for us all to enjoy. We've also seen official releases of Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman's (Henry Cavill) costume. We have yet to see the Batmobile in action, but that could soon change.

Batman-News notes an OLV report that businesses near Detroit's Corktown district have received notifications that a movie would shoot around Shelby Street from W Larned Street to Lafayette and Fort Street from Woodward to Washington Boulevad between Aug. 6th and Aug. 9th. Unless another movie is shooting there, this is Dawn of Justice.

The residents and businesses have been told to expect lots of fast vehicles and smoke, but no explosions. Rumors have circulated about the crew filming a Batmobile chase this summer, so this could happen in a few weeks. Could this also mean we'll see a glimpse of Affleck in action?

In other news, Gary Oldman spoke to Yahoo! U.K. as part of his press tour for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and the site asked for his opinion on Batman v Superman.

"They want to keep it going. Of course they do. But, it's Superman yeah? Batman and Superman together? We shall see. The thing about Nolan, there was some grounding of reality to it. In our trilogy, and as fantastical and as big as The Joker was, it was based [on reality]... we could relate to it. But now we've got a Batman and we've got a guy who can fly who's an alien?! We'll have to see...It's got big shoes to fill."

Oldman of course played Commissioner Jim Gordon in the three Christopher Nolan movies Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

Keep your eyes on MStars for news and pictures of the Batmobile if they come.
