Well today with the help from our friend over at Potluck video we are giving you the ins and out on everything you need to know to be a noodle expert.

Potluck took a trip to Sun Noodles factory in New Jersey to see just what goes into making the delicious noodles.

They met up with Kenshiro Uki, a Sun Noodle employee who explained that the ingredients needed to make a ramen noodle are wheat flour, water, salt, and kansui,

If you don't know what kansui is don't worry, we didn't know either before watching this video.

"Kansui is what makes a ramen noodle really a ramen noodle," Kenshiro explains.

"Kansui gives it the alkaline smell and also creates this texture that adds firmness to the dough," he adds.

Uki gives us a tour of the whole factory and the intricate process that goes into making this delicious food. He shows us all the machinery and equipment that is used in the manufacturing of the noodles, which he says that they have about 150 different styles of noodles in their Jersey factory alone.

He explains that the difference between the different types of noodles depends on the amount of flour and water that are used while making them.

And the noodles aren't just for broke college students anymore; ramen restaurants seem to be popping up everywhere.

So watch the video, and then head to your favorite ramen place and grab some of these delicious noddles.
