While attendees may gather for the special live events, panels, and screenings at San Diego Comic-Con, let's not forget the other major reason that guests step into the convention center. Check out the best costumes from Day 3 of Comic-Con.

When guests change out of their regular clothes and cosplay, their costume is usually cut and sewn by hand. Depending on how good you are, it may take hours, even months, to put the spectacualr outfit together. Some actually finish the hard work the night before the masquerade ball.

As reported here, there was even a Slave Leia, from Return of the Jedi, walking around the hall. The cosplayed had to braid her hair like Carrie Fisher in the movie. You sure have to be confident and have the right physique to flaunt around in a metallic bikini.

Now imagine dressing up as your favorite Batman villain, The Joker? In the DC Universe, currently in the New 52, the clown prince of crime cut his own face off. Like Leather-face in Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the Gotham baddie is wearing someone else's face.

How many Daryl Dixons, Doctor Whos, and Groots do you think will show up at the masquerade? Will someone put together a Rocket Raccoon costume or would they prefer walking around as Optimus Prime? As the days continued, the costumes kept getting crazier.

Cosplayers came out in droves for the penultimate Day 3 of San Diego Comic Con. Readers, do you have a favorite costume in the gallery?
