'Brooklyn 9-9' Season 2 Air Date, Episode 1: Jenny Slate Joins Fox Comedy Cast For 2015 Premiere

Season 2 of the Golden Globe-winning Fox comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine has a premiere date set for September 28, and it also has a great guest star, too: comedian Jenny Slate! Known mostly for her roles on Parks and Recreation, Bored to Death, and Bob's Burgers, Jenny is slated (puns!) to appear opposite her former SNL costar Andy Samberg in episode 1 of the 2014 season. Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio and Chelsea Peretti also star.

Slate, who's seeing lots of critical acclaim and success for her indie comedy Obvious Child, is set to play mob mistress Bianca in the first episode. Fans of the series will remember Jake Peralta (Samberg) ended season one by heading off to do some undercover work infiltrating the mafia.

We're positive that Slate's involvement will only ensure many more laughs for the already hilarious show.

Meanwhile, Slate isn't the only guest star already announced for season two. In fact, Slate's premiere episode will be followed by a guest appearance from The Closer starlet Kyra Sedgwick. She's reportedly signed on for two episodes this season, and will portray the nemesis of Captain Hoult (Braugher).

Braugher was just nominated for an Emmy for his Brooklyn Nine-Nine work. We should expect a lot more from this comedy in its second season and can't wait to see what's in store for us this year!
