Felicity Jones portrayed a character simply named "Felicia" in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Many fans assumed this was Felicia Hardy, who eventually becomes the Black Cat in the comics. The ambiguous nature of her presentation in the movie left it unclear if this was the character's intended path, but new evidence confirms she was indeed Felicia Hardy.

The trailer for the HD digital release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which you can view below, confirms Jones played the woman who turns into the masked ally/enemy of Spider-Man. Does this indicate that Felicia could be the subject of the female-centric Spider-Man movie spinoff?

Sony is pushing full steam ahead with its plan to expand the Amazing Spider-Man franchise to spinoffs and sequels, including a female Spidey film.

The studio pushed The Amazing Spider-Man 3 from 2016 to 2018, and Deadline reports Sony is revamping the franchise, a move that includes a female superhero movie in 2017. The site does not have specifics on which female character would be the focus of the movie, but it speculates on Black Cat, Spider-Woman, Silver Sable, Firestar and Stunner.

In other news, a video has hit the Internet that features all 23 minutes of deleted scenes from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The footage, which you can see here, includes Electro's (Jamie Foxx) mother, the alternate ending with Richard Parker and an appearance by Flash Thompson.

Do you think Black Cat will get her own movie? If so, then would Jones be the star of the film? Let us know in the comments below.
