Lucy Hale Covers Cosmopolitian- Talks 'Pretty Little Liars,' Country Music Career, & Awkward 'Fifty Shades Of Grey' Audition
Lucy Lucy Lucy!!!
Lucy Hale is a forced to be reckoned with. Already a successful actress, the 25-year-old Pretty Little Liar star is setting her sights on a career in the country music industry, and she is taking us all by storm.
The starlet opened up in the September issue of Cosmopolitian about Hollywood, her country roots, and even her cringe worthy audition for Fifty Shades of Grey.
She rocks the cover in a cut out black mini dress with a red flower embellishment and some truly teased out hair.
The star may have five seasons of PLL under her belt but she says that she doesn't like the standards that the show is setting for younger girls.
"Pretty Little Liars is about how we look- That's terrifying sometimes because you're breaking out or you feel gross and you still have to be in front of the camera," she explains to the magazine.
"We'll post pictures on Instagram and people will be like, 'Y'all are so flawless.' Little do they know it's fake hair, fake eyelashes, and a good filter. Little girls see that and think they have to be like that."
But it looks like the actress is trying to distance herself for the show that made her a household name, as she is embarking on a new career path as a country singer.
Lucy, who was on and actually won American Juniors, a spinoff to American Idol, back in the early 2000's say that her true passion lies in the world of music.
"So many people didn't want to touch the project with a 10-foot pole," she explains of people's resistance to help her with her album. "Literally, I had people laughing and saying, 'You're making an album? Good Luck...' But if you sit down and talk music with me for 10 minutes, you know that's my passion."
For anyone that hasn't heard Lucy's music, stop everything you're doing right now and give her debut album Road Between a listen, you'll thank us later.
She also talks her involvement with Fifty Shades of Grey, opening up to the magazine about her pretty awkward audition to play lead Anastasia Steele in the film.
"That audition was so uncomfortable! It's exactly what you thought it would be: a big monologue but very, very sexual...there were some things that I was so embarrassed to be reading out loud, but it's one of those things where you have to commit wholeheartedly or you're going to make a fool of yourself."
