Comedy Central Orders Late Night Talk Show Pilot With Host Kurt Braunohler
Former IFC Bunk host Kurt Braunohler has reportedly gotten himself another show. Deadline Hollywood claims that Comedy Central has ordered a talk show pilot with the comedian / improv star acting as host.
Following the news of picking up @midnight for a second season and finding a replacement for Stephen Colbert's The Colbert Report – Larry Wilmore's Minority Report – the network has decided to order a pilot episode of Gettin' Some Strange with Kurt Braunohler.
The show will be on during the late-night hours of Comedy Central, and is said to cover "the strangest stories of the day, revealing just how beautiful insane our world actually is," as Deadline puts it.
The comedian is no stranger to the network. Aside from frequent appearances on the aforementioned Chris Hardwick-led show, @midnight, and a guest spot on Drunk History, Braunohler just finished up filming his CC: Studios digital series, Roustabout with Kurt Braunohler, which features the comic performing various acts of randomness and stupidity that ultimately make the world a brighter and happier place. Examples of such land in him doing a seven-city water tour, in which he jet skis down the Mississippi River beginning in Chicago and ending in New Orleans in order to raise money for Heifer International. The series is scheduled to premiere later this year.
Braunohler has also just celebrated the airing of his stand-up special on Comedy Central's The Half Hour this past July 25.
So, will the comedian be able to add to the already epic list of late-night television Comedy Central has to offer?
