Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have made their relationship official. The longtime couple has tied the knot over the weekend in the Correns, a French hamlet. The wedding, which was attended by their family and friends, also included the couple's six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and 6-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

According to Comcast, it took the couple a long time to make the commitment, as they previously stated that they were waiting for gay marriage to become legal before becoming husband and wife. However, in recent years they became more vocal on their desire to get married, saying that it means a lot to the couple's children.

"It's an excited prospect, even though for us, we've gone further than that," Brad revealed in an interview back in 2012 with The Associate Press. "But to concretize it in that way, it actually means more than I thought it would. It means a lot to our kids."

Jolie also echoed these sentiments on Good Morning America, this past year.

"I think the important thing is that whenever we do it, that the kids do have a great time," Angie explained. "And we all take seriously the love and the connection between all of us. But we also just get silly and do something memorable."

The couple didn't run into any of the same problems that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian ran into before their wedding, as they obtained a marriage certificate from a California judge, who then proceeded over the nondenominational ceremony in France.

The couple began dating back in 2005 after they starred on-screen together in the film, Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Congrats to the happy couple.
