India Arie, Jordin Sparks, Ledisi, And Sharon Jones To Perform At 'Soulright Evening' Honoring Stevie Wonder

The Consortium MMT (Memphis Music Town), has announced India Arie, Jordin Sparks, Ledisi and Sharon Jones as performers for A Soulright Evening, honoring music legend Stevie Wonder, on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. at the Cannon Center in Memphis, TN.

In addition to a performance by Wonder, musical artists Arie, Sparks, Ledisi and Jones will pay tribute to Stevie Wonder by performing songs from his extensive repertoire of classics. The evening will serve not only as a tribute to the multi-talented, award-winning musical giant, but also as a fundraising effort for The Consortium MMT.

“We are delighted to have Ledisi, India, Jordin and Sharon joining our celebration of soul music in the great City of Memphis. It will be an evening of exceptional talent honoring the legendary Stevie Wonder with songs from his illustrious career,” said The Consortium MMT founder David Porter.

Rickey Minor, music director for American Idol, will serve as producer and music director for A Soulright Evening. Minor, a four time Emmy nominee, previously spent nearly four years jamming alongside Jay Leno as the leader of the famed Tonight Show Band. In addition, Minor has worked with Ray Charles, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Madonna, Beyoncé, Whitney Houston and many other great talents.

“Stevie Wonder is one of the most prolific artist and songwriter of our time. I'm so happy that these incredible ladies have joined us in the celebration of his storied career. It will certainly be, ‘A Night to Remember’,” said Minor.
