The Travel Channel's New Series 'Booze Traveler' With Jack Maxwell Samples Local Drinks In Foreign Destinations

Have youy ever wanted to go on a booze filled trip around the world? Well now you can without evening leaving the comforts of your own living room. The Travel Channel is about to debut a brand-new series hosted by Jack Maxwell called Booze Traveler. The show will follow the former Boston bartender as he travels the globe learning about the signature drinks of foreign lands.

According to The Travel Channel, Maxwell will travel to different locations during each of the one-hour episodes and he will learn about the culture of the location and sample their interesting beverages while also learning about the people who drink them.

"Booze Traveler provides a unique entry point for the exploration of local cultures through the lens of local drinks," the SVP of Programming and Development at Travel Channel, Ross Babbit stated. "Understanding the people, their roots and well-established traditions through the making, toasting and imbibing of their distinctive drinks is highly entertaining and something that connects us all. No matter what part of the world you travel to, you can always find a unique beverage, make new friends and share great stories."

Jack will travel to locations such as Armenia, Belize, Lithuania, Mongolia, and Nepal amongst others, where he will immerse himself and learn all about the relationship between liquor and the countries inhabitants.

In the premiere episode, Maxwell heads to Turkey where he learns that the population, which is primarily Muslim, is torn on the issue of alcohol, going between acceptance and prohibition in different areas. During a trek to the Turkish neighborhood of Gayrettepe, he finds that lawmakers have even made it illegal for some of the breweries to get their supplies to make beer.
