Tory Burch's New Watch Collection Is Surprisingly Expensive

Tory Burch, American lifestyle brand, recently launched its first watch collection. The brand, which just celebrated its 10-year anniversary, describes the watch collection as "the epitome of tomboy chic- a classic, sporty style with a round case and a bold bracelet." Tory explains on her website, that her "masculine meets feminine" style aesthetic comes from her childhood spent outdoors, playing sports with her brothers. Family plays a major role in Tory's brand, and she often names her pieces after family members.

The watches are indeed very chic and quite stylish, "made with the highest level of Swiss artisanship and precision," however, these high-quality standards are accompanied by a hefty price tag. The most expensive watch in the collection, the Limited Edition, Gold-Tone/Lapis "Robinson Watch" retails at $995.00.

Other watches in the collection retail at a more contemporary price point. "The Reva," named after Tory's mother, ranges from $350- $395 and is defined by an iconic double-t logo dial. This particular style of watch is available in a wide array of colors. The "The Buddy," named after Tory's father, ranges from $550- $595 and is vintage-inspired with single- or double-wrap leather straps. "The Izzie" ranges from $495- $550 and features a bold, clear square case inlaid with geometric fretwork.

In comparison to Burch's other products, the watches are priced a bit high. Especially with competitors like Michael Kors and Kate Spade making watches in the $150-$250 range. Also, the watches are manufactured by Fossil, which is not a luxury brand. Burch's price range for her watch collection is similar to that of top luxury brands like Burberry and Gucci.

Hopefully, Burch's customer won't mind the high prices and remain loyal to her brand. The collection is available on www.toryburch.com.
