Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo covers the November 2014 issue of Architectural Digest with her adorable 5-year-old daughter Stella.

The duo invite readers into their 16,000 square foot Los Feliz home.

Pompeo and husband Chris Ivery show off their lavish estate, while showing pictures of their newborn daughter Sienna May.

"Everything has been done before, so the question becomes, How do you take something classic and make it fresh for a new generation?"

Recently they reinvented their entire house and it looks breathtaking! However they had the help of an incredible team.

Architect Paul Revere Williams crafted the Mediterranean-style villa. When the couple bought the property in 2009, it had lost most of its charm. "I love projects," Pompeo said.

To give the house the attention she thought it deserved she hired L.A. decorator Martyn Lawrence Bullard, the two have designed two previous homes together.

"When something is so respected, you can turn it into something else, so that you are looking at it anew," the mother-of-two says. "Reinvention is invention," the actress said.

The house is obviously spacious enough for their new arrival. Sienna May was born via surrogate and Pompeo reveals how grateful she is of the process.

"This is an incredible thing to do with your life, to give the gift of carrying someone's child, so I am forever grateful and feel very blessed and grateful to her — she who will remain anonymous," Pompeo said. "I was there with her when they inseminated her and we held hands. I looked into the microscope and I saw the embryo, I saw the baby, and they put it in a thingy and they inseminated her. And then we held hands and we prayed, we talked to God, and if she was meant to be. He said he was going to try to help us out and now we have a gorgeous baby girl."
