Kevin Costner Tribute To British Armed Forces: NFL & Cleveland Browns- Attempt To Advertise 'Draft Day' In UK Or Genuine Classy Gesture?

Kevin Costner is one of the greatest actors today, and the whole world loves him, yet as the saying goes, "any publicity is good publicity." His latest movie Draft Day is about the NFL, the draft and the Cleveland Browns, and it proved to be a huge success in USA. His movie never hit the cinemas in the UK, and it has just been released via different forms of media, and Costner has strangely praised the British Armed Forces. Is this a coincidence, or was this a genuine, classy gesture?

Costner thanked them for protecting the world, and his message was recorded for the British Forces Broadcasting Service radio station.

Costner opened up, saying, "In my career, I have been able to play characters that are smarter and braver than I could ever be. I have been able to play characters in the military who are heroic and paid the ultimate sacrifice. But the truth is, I have never served. And I have never been tested as you have. I have never made that same commitment. You are the real deal. The ones that will be called first in a crisis. It is important to me that you know that I know the difference between your lives and mine."

The movie star has been in some of the best films of all-time, but the 59-year-old actor has received both praise and criticism for this, with many wondering why he's picked out the British troops at a time when his film is released there. With the NFL popular in the UK, but not their main sport, it was clear it needed some extra attention.

Are the media looking in to this too much, or was this a clever way to attract extra interest for his film?
