Aaron Murray, Kacie McDonnell Engaged: KC Chiefs and Former UGA QB Proposes to Reporter Girlfriend; See the Ring! [PHOTO]

Former University of Georgia star and current Kansas City Chiefs backup quarterback Aaron Murray is engaged to his long-time girlfriend, reporter Kacie McDonnell. The pair announced the news via social media on Friday night.

"SHE SAID YESSSS!!!!!" Murray tweeted, along with an emoticon of a diamond ring.

"Yeah, got on bended knee, the whole thing," Murray told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Saturday. "I told her I wanted to show my parents our church (Visitation Church) before we went out to eat and that's where I did it. She wasn't expecting it. It was awesome." Fans have flocked to Twitter to send their best wishes and congratulations to the couple, and McDonnell acknowledged them all on Saturday.

Last month, McDonnell left her news job at Fox 29 in Philly to become a traffic reporter for 41 Action News Today in Kansas City so that she could be closer to her NFL boyfriend.

Murray signed with the Chiefs in May for an estimated $2 million after the team drafted him in the fifth round (163rd overall pick) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Murray has yet to play a game for the Chiefs. But in four years at Georgia, he started every game he played in, completing 921-of-1,478 passes for 13,166 yards in his career.

Murray's brother, Josh, got engaged to Atlanta-based lawyer Andi Dorfman on the most recent season of The Bachelorette.
