Wyatt Cenac, Norm MacDonald: Former ‘Daily Show’ Correspondent Feuds With ‘SNL’ Vet?

Comedian Wyatt Cenac recently stopped by HuffPost Live to discuss his newest Netflix comedy special, Wyatt Cenac: Brooklyn. Once sitting down, however, he was asked about his opinions on Stephen Colbert taking over the Late Show spot, and drifted off into an interesting story about getting into a physical altercation with former Saturday Night Live player, Norm MacDonald.

Back when Cenac was an intern at SNL at the age of 19, he points out that Colbert was a writer there. And when the two met again at The Daily Show, the only reason the Report host remembered him was because of his fight with MacDonald.

So, why did they fight? Apparently back when Cenac was an intern, he was asked to play soccer with Colbert, MacDonald and Colin Quinn in the hallways. "Norm, at the time, was trying to quit smoking so I think he was a little more on edge," he said, "but we got into a little scrum over the ball and I wound up clipping him in the shin and he got really mad."

What happened next? It seems that MacDonald tried to toss Cenac across the room! A shoving match then took place, but it luckily nothing else transpired because neither of the two wanted to throw out the first punch. "I didn't wanna throw because I was an intern and I knew if I threw I'd get kicked out."

"We just kind of sized each other up and then we just went back to shoving each other. Then we got pulled apart again."
