Supermodel Kate Moss takes on a new venture as an actress in a new film. Following a sexy ad campaign for Burberry with fellow supermodel Cara Delevingne and her stint on Channel 4's Googlebox in aid of Stand Up To Cancer last Friday, alongside pals Naomi Campbell and Liam Gallagher, Telegraph reports that Moss has landed a cameo in her comedian friend David Walliams' BBC1 adaptation of children's book, The Boy in the Dress.

The film will be shown this Christmas and Moss will play herself, which is a role she is more than used to playing, as the star is no stranger to the camera.

The Boy in the Dress centers on 12-year-old cross-dresser, Dennis Sims, and will star Meera Syal, Inbetweeners star James Buckley and Ab Fab writer and star Jennifer Saunders. Croydon-born Moss will appear in a fantasy clip during the hour-long project.

"We have put together a dream cast for this, the first of my children's books and for many still my best," commented Walliams. "It is a funny and poignant story about what it is to be different. I hope it will make everyone who sees it, young and old, stop and think."

It comes as no surprise that Moss accepted Walliams' offer, since the two were friends long before Walliams married Dutch model, Lara Stone, in 2010. Moss, who is now a contributing fashion editor at Vogue, recently styled Stone for a fairytale photoshoot in the September edition; the largest fashion spread in Vogue's history.

Moss joined the magazine as a contributing editor last year, with her first shoot appearing in the spring. She has previously appeared on 33 covers in person since her debut in March 1993.
