Kim Kardashian Prison Orange Jumpsuit: Why the Star Appears Locked Up in Jail

No, the reality pop megastar Kim Kardashian is not truly incarcerated, but she does appear wearing the orange prison garb while behind bars in an upcoming episode of Lifetime's original series "Drop Dead Diva."

Even while flaunting the rather drab-looking token prison ensemble, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star still looks gorgeous with her slicked down brunette locks and pouty lips. Kardashian appeared on the first three episodes of the fourth season of "Drop Dead Diva" where she stars as Nikki LePree, a relationship guru and founder of the "pake" (a combination dessert of pie and cake).

LePree bumps heads with the main character Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott) after she forms a business relationship with Bingum's best friend, Stacy Barrett (played by former "Two and a Half Men" star April Bowlby). It is soon discovered that LePree is actually a con-artist, and she turns on Barrett by ditching town with the young woman's life-savings in tow.

In the upcoming episode, which will air on August 26, LePree, who already has a criminal past, is thrown in jail (hence the photos of Kardashian donning the orange prison jumpsuit) after the law finally catches up to her.

American legal commentator and former prosecutors Nancy Grace will also guest star on the episode, playing herself.

Josh Berman, the creator of "Drop Dead Diva," told Hollywood Reporter about Kardashian's role, "We wrote her a three episode arc. But once she got on set and I was with her I got to see what her strengths were and we got to write to those."

Kardashian is even able to throw some humor into her role, when LePree tells a woman in one upcoming scene about a client "who left her husband after 72 days" (obviously referring to Kardashian's quick-lived relationship with Kris Humphries). "Everyone on Twitter is freaking out," LePree says.

"Drop Dead Diva" airs on Lifetime on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
