Comedian Chris Rock had himself a pretty stellar time hosting Saturday Night Live this past Saturday, Nov. 1. But he was met with many criticisms from people who took offense to his opening monologue, which consisted of material about 9/11, the new Freedom Tower in New York City and the Boston Marathon bombings. And as one could imagine, Twitter was blowing up! And as you might have guessed... Fox News wasn't too happy about it.

Just a day after Rock's monologue, many comedians and people within the industry came to their friend's defense – whether they had to or not – with a number of tweets that made everyone realize (hopefully) that what Rock did on Saturday Night Live was not necessarily stir controversy... but he just killed it.

Of course, one guy just had to jab that people were more so shocked that SNL was funny after so long...

And unsurprisingly, Fox News' Fox & Friends legal analyst Peter Johnson, Jr. just found it to be a "disservice to comedy." Yeah...

So, what did Rock have to say about all of this? Well, not much, except for a post on Twitter that led to a story about One World Trade Center STILL opening despite his comments.

So, in the end... Chris Rock is still fantastic. Check out that "controversial" monologue here.
