Can you believe Prince just now posted his first selfie?

The iconic rock star, 56, shared on his Facebook page today, Nov. 11, his first attempt at a selfie — if that's what you call it.

"KNOWTHYSELFIE..." he cleverly posted.

His first "selfie" was attempted in 2013 as the funk performer took to his Twitter page to post a photo of smoke, captioning the photo, "1st selfie #selfie."

But this attempt was not even of the celebrity, so in true selfie form it didn't count.

His new picture is gaining headlines for its old-school feel — very Prince, if you ask us. The music icon snapped a photo of himself in a circular frame holding up a real camera, not an iPhone put a real camera!

A retrospective selfie to say the least.

The selfie has gained headlining traction in the past years, as celebrities have taken to their social media pages to claim their rights to the best selfie. A recent edition of the Academy Awards, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, claimed one of the best selfies in history — even shutting down Twitter for a few moments!

MStars News reported that the Academy Awards selfie was valued at $1 billion!

"You may want to hold it has far away as you can, maybe a little up, so you can get in as many people as you can," Bradley Cooper instructed a reporter on how to take the best selfie.

Get this: The selfie even has its own Wikipedia page, which defines the pic as "a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone."

In Prince's case, a real camera.
