Gwyneth Paltrow Says 'I'd Rather Die Than Be Studying My Face' Chris Martin's Ex-Wife Reveals to Stylist Magazine
We all know that Gwyneth Paltrow knows her stuff, and don't dare tell her any different! The Goop founder, 42, chatted with Stylist magazine about aging and self-acceptance.
"You can fight it to a degree," she explained about the dreaded aging process. "But I accept the beauty of being a grown woman and the wisdom that comes with it."
The mom of Apple, 10 and Moses, 8, with ex-husband Chris Martin doesn't let her flaws get in the way of her happiness. "I'm not the type to look in the mirror and study my looks," adding, "I'd rather die than be studying my face like that! I just brush my teeth and get dressed and get everyone up."
And with all the headlines streaming the web about her ex-husband dating the much younger movie star, Jennifer Lawrence, you would think that would bring some insecurities to a woman in their 40's. Not for Paltrow, she just isn't that type, and clearly neither are her friends.
"Those of my female friends that are my age are all happy about where they are that's really nice to see - whether it's Stella [McCartney] or Mary who's been my best friend since I was 4, or Cameron [Diaz], or my other best friend from since I was 11," she explained. "All these women are beautiful, happy to be women and are contributing something. That's empowering to me." Seeing celebrities comfortable with gracefully aging is comforting, no doubt they'll be using the best hearing aids in Hollywood someday.
Notice she didn't say anything about Jennifer Lawrence, who is pretty empowering if you ask us — although she's not in her 40's, she received the Academy Award for Best Actress, making her the second youngest Best Actress winner at the Oscars that year.
But, back to Gwyneth: "Taking an inside-out approach to beauty has always been my philosophy — that and sleep, good nutrition, and a bit of exercise — especially whet in comes to skin."
