Nick Lachey Reveals Why His Happiness on NOT Having Kids with Ex Wife Jessica Simpson

Not that this is a shocker to us, but ex-husband of Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey gets real on why he's happy that he and Jessica didn't have babies together.

"In our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened that we didn't have kids," Lachey replied to a question from Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM show Dirty, Sexy, Funny.

"And look, you're always going to love your kids no matter how you feel about their parent, but all things being equal, it was the best thing probably for both of us that we went on with our lives."

The former couple had one of the first very public relationships splattered on reality television on their show Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica from 2003-05. The couple divorced in December 2005, citing "irreconcilable differences."

"She's obviously happily married with two and I'm happily married and about to have two so it all worked out the way it was kind of meant to work out."

Happiness it is for the former 98 Degrees lead singer. Him and wife Vanessa Lachey just celebrated the arrival of their second child together with a baby shower on Nov. 3.

"I can't think of a better way to celebrate 3 years of marriage to my beautiful Vanessa then this #family," Nick wrote on his twitter page.

Ex Jessica Simpson doesn't stray away from her social media either as she is always posting adorable photos of her now 16-month-old son Ace and two-year-old daughter Maxwell.
