Kevin Strootman, Mats Hummels, Juan Mata & Robin Van Persie: Manchester United Plot Premier League Comeback With Transfers

It's fair to say Louis Van Gaal and his Manchester United team hasn't had the best start to their Premier League season, but they're not prepared to sit around and let things fail for much longer. The Red Devils are preparing to sign Kevin Strootman and Mats Hummels in an attempt to address two of their weakest areas on the field. They could then sell Juan Mata and Robin Van Persie. These four transfer deals should provide them with stability and an all-round strong starting eleven. Will they make these deals a reality, or is that easier said than done?

The club has many other targets in mind, but they believe these two key signings would fix their two problem areas, and be long-term fixes rather than many of the short-term fixes they've been linked with trying to make. The Red Devils are in desperate need of a rock solid CB and a tough-tackling leader in the middle, and experienced internationals Hummels and Strootman can prove them with just that.

However, with FFP rules, it's important for the Red Devils to watch their ins and outs. Van Persie is no longer the threat he used to be, and reports are suggesting the club is likely to sell him before he gets a reported $16 million bonus he will be owed. Mata has been a revelation, but he doesn't appear to be a United kind of player, with the club often having to switch tactics to accommodate him in the side.

It's early days for the Red Devils, but should they complete these four in-and-out deals?
