Thanksgiving Week: See What's On TV And What Holiday Specials Are Airing Every Day

This Thursday is Thanksgiving and you know what that means... awesome TV! This week there are Thanksgiving-themed episodes of old and new television in edition to movie specials about the holiday. Check out the ultimate Thanksgiving TV viewing guide below.

Your Thanksgiving specific television TV must-watch list starts on Tuesday with the airing of John Hughes' Planes, Trains and Automobiles at 8 p.m. on The CW, plus there will be two new episodes of some of our favorite comedies.

The Mindy Project is back with an all-new episode this Tuesday that revolves around Thanksgiving, following an all-new episode of New Girl called "Thanksgiving IV." The Mindy Project's new episode will star Rhea Perlman as Annette Castellano (Danny's mom) and focus on her dating life. Mindy Lahiri (played by Mindy Kaling) sets her up on a blind date this week and the hilarity ensues. New Girl on the other hand has a "bangs-giving," where every person at dinner has to bring a date for someone else at the party.

Wednesday has a lot of choices for your Thanksgiving viewing pleasure. The iconic Friends episode, "The One with the Thanksgiving Flashbacks," will air on TV Land at 12: 30 a.m. while That '70s Show's "Thanksgiving" will air on both TV Land (at 5 a.m.) and ABC Family (at 7:30 a.m.) according to TV Guide. Reba's "Thanksgiving" will be on both CMT (at 12:30 p.m.) and ABC Family (at 3:00 p.m.).

The biggest TV event on Wednesday is Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, which starts at 8:00 p.m. on ABC. The Thanksgiving classic is one of the many iconic holiday specials featuring Charlie Brown and Snoopy.

On Thanksgiving Day itself, the Thanksgiving Day Parade will begin at 9:00 a.m. on CBS and run until noon. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be on at the same time, but on NBC. As for football, the Chicago Bears are play the Detroit Lions (on CBS at 12:30 p.m.), the Philadelphia Eagles at playing the Dallas Cowboys (on Fox at 4:30 p.m.) and the Seattle Seahawks are playing San Francisco 49ers (on NBC at 8:30 p.m.).

The Big Bang Theory's "The Thanksgiving Decoupling," will air on CBS at 8 p.m. and The Simpsons' "Bart v. Thanksgiving," will be showing on FXX at 8 p.m. on Thursday night as well. Friday marks the beginning of Christmas specials including, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer on The CW (at 8:00 p.m.) and Frosty the Snowman on CBS (at 9:00 p.m.). Saturday also features Christmas-specific films such as Santa Buddies on Disney (at 8:00 p.m.) and The Story of Santa Claus on CBS (at 9:00 p.m.). Sunday will feature National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation on ABC Family (at 10:00 p.m.).
