A.J. McCarron, Katherine Webb, Andy Dalton And Jason Campbell: Starting Cincinnati Bengals QB To Be Benched, Traded? Time For Former Alabama NCAA Hotshot Despite Win?

By Kenneth Brown | Nov 24, 2014 10:48 AM EST

The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Houston Texans, and Andy Dalton was impressive, but is he the right man to lead them forward? With A.J. McCarron and Jason Campbell waiting in the wings, and the Bengals' fans not knowing if Dalton will turn up each week, it's understandable why they still might want a change. Dalton has had some terrible games, he's been inconsistent, and he's now known as the man that can't get it done under pressure. So is it time to look at giving the former Alabama NCAA hotshot, McCarron, who recently married Katherine Webb, the starting job, or is it destined to remain with Dalton?

After the win, Dalton gave his father his jersey, saying "I thought I would give him a little present after the game." However, he admitted that he's not been good enough, adding, "The last couple of times I have been in this room right here, it hasn't gone in our favor, so it is good just to get that behind us. We don't have to worry about anybody talking about that anymore. Those are the first couple of years and we have moved on from that and so we have to keep doing whatever we can to win these games."

Dalton has talked the talk this season, but he's let his team down on many occasions, and one can wonder, will they continue to put up with it? McCarron might be an untried rookie, but he handled the pressure well at Alabama, and many believe that he can do the same for the Bengals. Of course, if they don't believe he's ready, they have ready-made veteran Campbell to be the stop-gap QB.

Which QB should the Bengals stick with this year, and which should start next season?
