Angelina Jolie cozies up to a man who's not husband Brad Pitt on the cover of Entertainment Weekly's latest issue.

The 39-year-old actress dove into her directing skills in the latest movie Unbroken alongside actor Jack O'Connell, who plays the lead role of a World War II prisoner of war survivor. Jolie divulges to the magazine about her directorial debut in the movie.

"If you saw that first shot and my reaction to it, you'd be absolutely sure that this was going to be one of the great disasters of filmmaking history," the mother of six told EW. "The only thing you could do was laugh at how insane this was all going to be. And then you just had to take a deep breath and figure out what to do next."

The movie is a war drama produced and directed by Jolie and is based on the 2010 nonfiction book Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand. The film revolves around the life of Louis "Louie" Zamperini (O'Connell), a prisoner of war and Olympic distance runner. Zamperini died July 2, 2014. He was 97.

"I didn't know what I was up against when I was first getting into it," she added. "I had never done anything like it. I was up for the challenge, but I had so much to learn."

O'Connell, 24, is a British actor known for his role playing Pukey Nicholls in This is England (2006), Marky in Harry Brown (2009) and is now Jolie's prized actor for her directorial debut for the film.
