Aaron Sorkin's political drama,The Newsroom, continues the next half of its season 3 on HBO. With Neal (Dev Patel) on the run from the FBI and as problems seem to get bigger, will news anchorman Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) make it down the aisle on his wedding day if he's held in 'Contempt.'

Charlie (Sam Waterston) and Will (Daniels) meet with the millionaire Lucas Pruitt (B.J. Novak), who has plans to change ACN. Lucas promises his ideas will help ACN rise back to the top and make the news Will wants to tell. Charlie has problems with Lucas because he knows the team's integrity will also be compromised.

Jim (John Gallagher Jr.) continues to have problems with his girlfriend Hallie Shea (Grace Gummer) because of her new job. Not only does her stories need page views from readers, Hallie has already revealed to her outlet that Will is in trouble with the law. The tension only gets worse, when Maggie (Allison Pill)'s new boyfriend ends up mocking them, right to their faces.

While playing pool, Maggie's boyfriend discovers Hallie has written an article about her problems with Jim. Maggie tries to defend Hallie but her boyfriend is on Jim's side. He can tell Maggie has feelings for Jim, and he doesn't want to be in a relationship with her.

Hallie and Jim, who is drunk, have one last argument on the roof. Jim calls Hallie a hypocrite for her stance on the digital revolution. Even though Jim knows Hallie won't admit what she did was wrong, he will still miss her.

Though Charlie and Sloan (Olivia Munn) try to find a buyer, they end up losing. Lucas is already signing on the dotted line, making him the new ACN owner. Lucas promises to bring old man Charlie to the 21st century, even if it means dragging him through the 19th and 20th.

As the rain pours down on them, Mac meets with Neal's source (Clea DuVall) to stall time. Unfortunately, Lucas doesn't want to pay the fines if the leaks are made public. Everything the news team has worked so hard on means nothing.

With their jobs on the line, Sloan and Don (Thomas Sadoski) appear to be in trouble with the new HR rep  Wyatt Geary (Keith Powell). Wyatt already knows the two are dating, he was just messing with them. Wyatt doesn't care if the two are dating and doesn't want to transfer Sloan; he just wanted to have fun.

Never giving up his source, Will appears to a grand jury and then to judge. Waiting outside the court room, the news team wonders what is going to happen to their leader. Unfortunately, the judge has to make an example of Will and sentences him to prison.

In his last hours as a free man, Will and Mac want to get married right away. The news team get the flowers, the cake, and musicians for the abrupt wedding. Before walking down the aisle with Mac, Will says a prayer with his priest.

Rebecca meets with the other lawyer, stalling time so that the wedding ceremony can finish. As husband and wife, Will and Mac end up being separated by federal officers. Mac kisses Will goodbye as he is being sent to prison.
