At the lobby of the Luxe Rodeo Drive Hotel at the famed Beverly Hills, shots were fired inside after police responded to a bank robbery at a local Bank of America. In the robbery gone wrong, a suspect who was fired upon at the scene, has been arrested and remains in custody.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, an officer was involved in the shooting at the Luxe Hotel lobby. One suspect, who was allegedly involved in the shooting, was injured. According to Lt. Renato Moreno, of the Beverly Hills Police Department, the injured suspect was then transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later listed in critical condition.

On their official Facebook page, KTLA 5 News posted a photo of the crime scene. Based on the snapshot, we can tell a lineup of police cars have the area surrounded and have also cut traffic.

Their FB post states, "Officers were searching for a second robber and warned people to avoid the area. One witness said he was trapped in a Chanel store during the investigation."

During the robbery, one of the tellers at the bank snuck in a GPS tracking device inside the money bag. Lt. Lincoln Hoshino reports that the tracking device led police to the hotel, where the suspected bank robber then tried to check in as a guest.

Hosihno tells KTLA 5 News, "There were a lot of pedestrians on the sidewalk. It was a very dangerous situation. However, the suspect is in custody and the community is safe."

The robbery took place at the beginning of the busy Christmas holiday season, after the Thanksgiving holidays. There was also another man taken into custody, but his connection to the robbery is not immediately clear.

Shopper Eric Turico describes the scenario, "The first thing that we saw was helicopters swarming all around Rodeo Drive. I saw one, then two, then three of them."
