'Suicide Squad' PHOTOS: Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Tom Hardy Join Task Force X! [WATCH]

Warner Bros. has put together a phenomenal cast of big names to build the super-villain team, Task Force X. In the biggest casting news event, Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared Leto (Joker), Will Smith (Deadshot), Tom Hardy (Rick Flag), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) are now in the Suicide Squad movie.

As we previously mentioned, when the government has a mission too hot for the superheroes to handle, they send in the bad guys to take care of the business. In a plot reminiscent of The Dirty Dozen, if the Suicide Squad - which includes the captured band of super-villains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang - survives their deadly mission, their prison sentence will then be reduced. In the mythology, the team is run by government agent, Amanda Waller, who has earned the nickname "The Wall" by her associates.

According to Variety, David Ayer (End of Watch) has signed on to write and direct the action/heist super villain flick. Filming will begin shooting April 2015 in Toronto. Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Oprah Winfrey are being sought after for Amanda Waller.

Uproxx states the narrative may follow John Ostrander's 1987 comic run, which includes Trial By Fire, where Amanda Waller first gathers super villains for Task Force X.

Jared Leto and Margot Robbie

After audition for Doctor Strange, someone listened to us and gave the Dallas Buyers Club actor a comic book movie. They will be playing the clown prince of crime and his lover. After winning an Oscar, Leto will have to do a different interpretation of the Batman baddie than Heath Ledger's (The Dark Knight).

Will Smith

We mentioned that Deadshot is a hired assassin who never misses because of his cybernetic eye. Just like it was mentioned on Arrow, Floyd Lawton has a daughter named Zoe. Deadshot played a pivotal role in the recent Forever Evil storyline when the Justice League was believed to be dead.

Cara Delevingne

We also previously reported the English supermodel posted up an Instagram picture of herself drawn as The Joker's former love interest. The socialite is seen biting down on a lollipop shaped like the clown prince of crime's face. Known for wrecking the missions, Enchantress uses magical energy as a powerful sorceress.

Tom Hardy

Rick Flag is the original survivor, a WWII vet, of the first Suicide Squad. In the mythology, Rick is seen as the leader of the group.

Jai Courtney

We have already met Captain Boomerang in the The Flash and Arrow crossover event. This will be his feature film debut.
