This new rumor comes from The Wrap, claiming Holt is one of the first actresses to be tested for the lead role of Kara Zor-El. She is the cousin of the widely known Superman, and, according to plot details from numerous sources, is ready to embrace her powers at the age of 24.
According to IGN, most of you probably know the 26-year-old Holt for playing Rebekah Mikaelson on the CW's The Vampire Diaries and its spinoff, The Originals.
"Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago," The Wrap reports. "Since arriving on Earth, she's been hiding the powers she shares with her famous cousin."
So far, Claire is the only actress attached to Supergirl casting rumors. Do you think Holt would be a good choice for this important role? Let us know what you think of this casting rumor in the comments section below.
Holt will also appear in the NBC's upcoming series Aquarius, which is based in the 1960s, following a Los Angeles police sergeant that is tracking a criminal and aspiring cult leader. This antagonist turns out to be Charles Manson, so it looks like Holt has an interesting and busy future ahead of her!
