Famke Janssen played Jean Grey in five of the X-Men movies and most recently appeared at the end of X-Men: Days of Future Past. The sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse, will hit theaters in 2016 and will feature a Young Jean Grey.

The Wrap reports several actors and actresses are being considered for the roles of Young Jean Grey and Young Cyclops in the movie, which is set in the 1980s. The report says Chloe Moretz (of Kick-Ass fame) and Elle Fanning (Maleficent) have met with director Bryan Singer recently but no official offers have been made and several other names are still in play. One of those names is Academy Award-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld.

MTV spoke to Janssen about the rumored names for the role and the actress seemed pleased with the choices, though she remarks that she does not quite see the resemblance in the young ones. Check out the video below:

As for Cyclops, The Wrap reports three actors have broken into the front of the pack. Ben Hardy (Eastenders), Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society) and Timothee Chalamet (Homeland) are the three candidates as of now.

The Wrap also reported in October that 20th Century Fox has made Tom Hardy an offer to play Apocalypse in the next film in the franchise. The deal is nowhere close to done, however.

Hardy of course played a famous DC villain when he took on the role of Bane in The Dark Knight Rises.
