Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has had tie-ins with multiple big screen properties in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the past, including Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But with the big team-up The Avengers: Age of Ultron coming in May 2015, the show plans to deliver another link to the larger Marvel world.

EW.com exclusively reported that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would connect to The Avengers 2 down the road. "You should expect something," executive producer Jed Whedon told the site. "The Avengers is the big tent that all the franchises play under. Obviously, we're included in that."

It's unclear at the moment how the show will execute the tie-in. The biggest link to the Marvel Cinematic Universe came toward the end of Season 1, when Captain America 2 effectively destroyed S.H.I.E.L.D. with the reveal that Hydra had been infesting its ranks. Executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen said the upcoming connection would not be quite as deep.

"I don't think any movie has the potential to impact us in the way that Captain America 2 did," she said, "but there will be connections."

How do you think Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would tie into Age of Ultron? Will it lead into the movie prior to its release, or deal with the after-effects? Will this occur in Season 2 or Season 3? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
