Sydney, Australia Hostage Situation: Lone Islamist Gunman, ISIS Supporter Holds Captives Inside Martin Place Lindt Chocolate Café – "Sydney Siege" Twitter Reactions [PHOTOS + VIDEO]

It's being reported that a hostage situation is currently taking place over in Sydney, Australia – specifically Martin Place – inside a Lindt Chocolate Café. As of this reporting, over 10 people are inside being held captive by a lone gunman – who is now being called an ISIS supporter – each with their hands and arms pushed firmly on the glass of the café. Also with the hostages is a black flag normally associated with Islam, which has many reactions coming from viewers via Twitter.

Reports from NBC News are stating that the gunman is now giving his demands, one of which was to have a flag associated with the aforementioned radical group ISIS.

Deputy Police Commissioner Catharine Burn spoke of the unfortunate situation, saying, "We are monitoring all forms of communications – Facebook, Twitter – for any information that might assist."

The news outlets also notes that as of now, police are working with "the very best negotiators in the world" in order to try and end the hostage situation.
