The official release of Lil Wayne's highly-anticipated new album The Carter V was recently delayed - again. But should Weezy fans still expect new music from the YMCMB superstar to drop sometime VERY soon?

Several years ago, the New Orleans emcee experienced similar problems with the debut of The Carter IV. So, the 32-year-old rapper decided to premiere a viral hip-hop mixtape entitled "Sorry 4 The Wait" instead (in July 2011). Check out the full tracklist here:

1. "Tunechi’s Back" - "Tupac Back" (Meek Mill featuring Rick Ross)
2. "Rollin’" - "Rollin'" (Gunplay)
3. "Throwed Off" (featuring Gudda Gudda) - "Throwed Off" (Prince Rick & Treal Lee)
4. "Gucci Gucci" - "Gucci Gucci" (Kreayshawn)
5. "Marvin's Room" - "Marvins Room" (Drake)
6. "Sure Thing" - "Sure Thing" (Miguel)
7. "Grove St. Party" (featuring Lil B) - "Grove St. Party" (Waka Flocka Flame featuring Kebo Gotti)
8. "Racks" - "Racks" (YC featuring Future)
9. "Hands Up (My Last)" - "My Last" (Big Sean featuring Chris Brown)
10. "Sorry 4 The Wait" - "Rolling in the Deep" (Adele)
11. "Inkredible (Remix)" (featuring Thugga, Raw Dizzy, Flow & T@) - StreetRunner
12. "Run The World (Girls)" - "Run The World (Girls)" (Beyonce)

FYI - The Carter IV was finally released on August 29 of that same year.

So, will the "Lollipop" crooner surprise anxiously waiting fans again?

Young Money CEO Mack Maine and Weezy's good friend Fee recently instigated such follow-up mixtape hype on Instagram...

After his epic Twitter rant against Cash Money, Wayne now remains relatively silent on social media about the rumors surrounding "Sorry 4 The Wait 2."

But Twitter fans are still going crazy:

@MrJordanHughes: "Sorry 4 the wait 2 is gonna be flames."

@TheBloodShow: "Lil wayne Finna drop sorry 4 the wait 2..."

@big_business_: "need weezy to feature lil b again on the Sorry 4 The Wait 2."

@Jay_21_Johnson: "@LilTunechi so you tryna give us Sorry 4 The Wait 2 orrrrr..."

@spencerrstandon: "Sorry 4 the wait 2? #FreeWeezy."

For now, The Carter V is expected to hit airwaves sometime in early 2015.
