Burning Man Pics 2012: Recap Best Festival Photos
Burning Man 2012 was quite the festival with nearly 60,000 gathered worldwide in a remote area in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada. Festival pics were posted all throughout social websites. Mstarz put together a collection of some of the best pics for you to view.
The 26th annual festival which ended yesterday (September 3) was sold out and attracted a large variety of people and performers. The event lasted for eight days with many travellers staying for just a segment of the festival.
Though Burning Man was placed on probation for exceeding the maximum capacity last year, this year's numbers were within the Bureau of Land Management's cap of 60,900 with the peak attendance at 52,385 on Friday.
Here what some had to say about the festival on Twitter:
"San Francisco makes up for its lack of seasons by creating its own fifth and most peacefully quiet season called Burning Man," @postobject wrote.
"The RNC and Burning Man are happening at the same time. How many people do you figure had a hard time choosing?" asked @JeffreyYoung_HC.
On the first day of the festival, @BillyCorben joked, "In case you were wondering what that smell is: Burning Man started today."
@levie tweeted, "Labor Day was introduced in 1894 to celebrate the efforts of US workers. And by that I mean, to extend Burning Man by an extra day."
