It's finally that time of year - hockey season!

The Chicago Blackhawks battle it out on the ice against the Edmonton Oilers in Week 13 of the regular season on Friday, January 9 at 9:30 p.m. EST at the Rexall Place in Alberta. Read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the Friday evening hockey game online and catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.

Following the first few opening weeks of the 2014-2015 regular season, the Blackhawks snag the impressive No. 1 spot in Pierre LeBrun's official NHL power rankings for ESPN.com with a 27-12-2 winning record:

"A rival general manager said to me the other day: 'I've seen them live a few times this year -- nobody is playing hockey like they are. Period.' Enough said."

Meanwhile, the Oilers currently hold the LAST No. 30 spot with a meager 9-23-9 record. According to LeBrun:

"So, the Oilers didn't release Leon Draisaitl for the world juniors tournament, but at the end of the tournament, they sent him back to juniors. OK, then."

The top team competes against the bottom - wonder what will happen?

The game will be broadcasted live on local channels RSN and CSNC, but fans can also listen in on the radio at WGNWBUZ, 630 CHED, and Cruz FM.
