It's somewhat mysterious at this point because the director of "Innocence of Muslims" is reportedly an Israeli-American by the name of Sam Bacile.
Terry Jones who is infamous for trying to burn Korans have expressed his support for the film, but there is no sure sign whether he was involved in the making of the film or not.
He believes that it is "an American production, not designed to attack Muslims but to show the destructive ideology of Islam."
The director is reportedly in hiding after the terrible attacks happened in Libya. It is highly possible that he may have received death threats for the film, which portrays Muslim's Prophet Muhammad "as a child of uncertain parentage, a buffoon, a womanizer, a homosexual, a child molester and a greedy, bloodthirsty thug" according to The New York Times.
