Panda on 'X-Factor': Wows Judges, Becomes Overnight Sensation and Fan Favorite [VIDEO]
"X-Factor" contestant Panda Ross stole the stage on Wednesday night's episode of the hit FOX singing show, wowing the judges with her killer vocal chords and winning over fans with her fun and spunky personality. All four celebrity judges gave Panda two big thumbs up, with toughie Simon Cowell even remarking that she "sounds like a legend."
42-year-old Ross was hospitalized just days before the "X-Factor" auditions, sick with pneumonia, and actually left her hospital bed in order to make it to the show. Unfortunately, Ross began feeling sick again and started to have trouble breathing after she left the stage following her audition, and was promptly hauled off the set in an ambulance to make sure everything was okay. But of course not before taking the "X-Facotr" stage and completely winning over the crowd and at-home viewers.
Ross first won over the audience and judges with her sparkly personality, not to mention her awesome attitude and wit. When asked about her rather unique name, Ross answers, "My mom, she was kind of in jail when she had me, and her cell mate was a white lady and she was black, so they just kind of came up with the name." Demi Lovato loved it.
Now on to her singing - she's phenomenal. Just check out her rendition of Sam Cooke's "Bring It On Home to Me" (watch the whole audition to catch all of the judges' high praise):
Hopefully Ross' health recuperates so she's able to make it to the "X-Factor" boot camp! "X-Factor" airs on FOX at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
