Chef David Viens made the unthinkable confession that he had cooked and killed his wife Dawn Viens during a Tuesday trial on Sept. 18, 2012.  Dawn went missing in late 2009 and Viens had pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife.  Her body was never found and finally the truth was revealed.

When he was found out that he was being investigated as a suspect for murdering his wife in 2011, he had jumped off an 80-foot cliff in Rancho Palos Verdes.  He is still in a wheelchair because of that incident.

While he was hospitalized in March 2011, he was interviewed by detectives, and the audio recording was released during the trial for the jurors to hear.

Viens was heard saying in the recording, "I just slowly cooked it and I ended up cooking her for four days," Huffington Post reported.

He also said that he had placed her body into a 55-gallon pot of boiling water.  Furthermore, Viens had mixed the remains with other waste and threw it out at his Lomita restaurant.  He also revealed that the only part of the her body that remained was her skull, which he placed in the attic of his mother's house.

How did this crazy story turn out this way?

Back in a court trial that took place on Oct. 18, 2009, Viens confessed to wrapping his wife up after discovering money stolen from his restaurant.  He also placed duct tape over her mouth.  After a nap, he discovered that she was dead.

This is a tragic and unthinkable story.  RIP Dawn Viens.
