The notorious social media campaign will be showcased in the upcoming Season 16 episode of the NBC crime drama, Law & Order: SVU. Straight from the headlines, will Sergeant Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Detective Odafin 'Fin' Tutuola (Ice-T) be able to "expose" GameGate for its crimes involving sexual assault?

As we previously mentioned, the Gamergate controversy stems from issues of sexism and misogyny through online attacks. The cyber-bullying campaign is linked to ongoing harassment of women in videogames, including Depression Quest creator Zoe Quinn, Anita Sarkeesian, and Giant Spacekat head Brianna Wu. When Supernatural actress Felicia Day spoke her mind about the controversy, her personal information was exposed online and she received death threats from Gamergate supporters.

According to Polygon, the SVU episode entitled, Intimidation Game, will air next month. GamerGate has received attention from the mainstream media, ranging from major outlets, such as The New York Times and CNN. The episode draws from the massive charges of harassment and anger that have become associated with the movement.

All Things Law and Order has posted the plot synopsis, "Video game developer Raina Punjabi (guest star Mouzam Makkar) solidifies the launch of her first game amid a stream of online insults, intimidation and death threats from the male-dominated gaming community. When a female employee is assaulted at a gamer convention, Detective Tutuola (Ice-T) investigates the crime but Raina refuses to delay the launch, and the cops must "level up" to protect her."

When the Law places the handcuffs on the cyber-bullies, Order takes over to judge them for their crimes. Will Assistant District Attorney Rafael Barba (Raúl Esparza) have enough evidence to take down these criminals in a court of law?
